This year the “Projeto Vida” is attended by more than two hundred children and adolescents. Since the renovation/expansion of the building that houses the activities is underway, the formative lessons and the after-school program have been transferred to the classrooms of a mission building, adjacent to the house of the Sisters. All activities continue regularly: music lessons, computer lessons, physical education. The tailoring rooms, the kitchen, the refectory and the covered sports field have remained intact. The bakery through which bread is packaged for the youth canteen and also for sale to the public operates regularly, which makes it possible to contribute economically to the self-financing of part of the project activities.
Recently the community welcomed a new Sister from Kenya, Sister Jeniffer, who will carry out her mission in Jaiba. It was warmly welcomed by young people and officials.
